A Message from the Principal

Bowers Families,

I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you to a new school year at Bowers Elementary! This marks my sixth year as part of the Bowers community, and I feel incredibly fortunate to continue serving such a dedicated, inclusive, and inspiring school.

With over 20 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Each role has strengthened my commitment to supporting students, families, and staff in reaching their full potential.

Originally from Southern California, I moved north to attend college. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from UC Berkeley, followed by a Master of Arts in Education and a single-subject teaching credential in English from Stanford University. For the past 15 years, my husband and I have called the South Bay home, where we are raising our two daughters, one in middle school and one in second grade.

One of the things I love most about Bowers is the incredible linguistic and cultural diversity of our school community. Our students and families bring a wealth of languages, traditions, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our classrooms every day. I am proud to work alongside a team of dedicated educators who are deeply committed to educating the whole child. We strive to ensure that every student is challenged academically while also feeling safe, supported, valued, and connected. We believe that every child can achieve when they experience a strong sense of belonging and have access to meaningful learning opportunities.

As both an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of a strong partnership between home and school. Together, we will provide every student with a rigorous, engaging education while fostering the social-emotional skills and confidence they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
